The Hood Fund will be administered by The University of Auckland Foundation, in conjunction with the University. The Foundation will allocate the annual funding from the return on the invested capital in the Hood Fund. The University undertakes that 100% of your gift as well as any accrued net investment income will go to the Fund. No administration fee will be charged. The Hood Fund also allocates an annual grant it is currently receiving from the Lion Foundation.
Hood Fellowships
The Hood Fund will provide annually a number of Fellowships across all Faculties. These aim both to attract the best academic talent to Auckland, and also to enable the University's top academics to travel to prestigious institutions abroad to continue their research. All incoming Fellows must give at least one public lecture or equivalent in Auckland during their Fellowship
Value of the Fellowships
Each Fellowship will be worth up to $20,000. The grant awarded must be used to cover all accommodation, general and travel expenses. Those nominating or applying will be required to present a provisional budget with their nomination/application, and all expenditure should be accounted for in the report submitted on completion of the Fellowship.
Applications
Applications for the next round of Hood Fund Fellowship close on 31 March 2011.
